Location: Palais Excelsior, Flat 9, 8 Avenue Durante, 06000, Nice, France

Immediate Area

Set in the old Palais Excelsior hotel, Flat 9 overlooks a quiet car-free cul-de-sac with beautifully kept gardens. Local grocers, delicatessens and butchers can be found nearby on the Avenue Durante and Rue d’Italie. A handful of restaurants and bars scatter the surrounding blocks.

Five Minutes Walk

Within five minutes walk from your apartment you will find Nice’s central train station[1], the Avenue Jean Medicin[2] with its numerous chic clothing stores on the new tram route, and the edge of the pedestrianised zone that leads to the Place Massena[3] and into the Old Town.

Or, taking a slightly different route, in 5 minutes one can cross the tree-lined Boulevard Victor Hugo[4] and the Rue de France[5] with it’s restaurants and shops. The sweeping Promenade des Anglais is just five minutes further on.

Ten Minutes Walk

The character of the Old Town changes between night and day. It plays host to a high density of restaurants and lively bars that cater to Nice’s night scene. In the day, however, the attractive buildings, pavement cafés and sense of history plays to the ambling tourists, who explore the daily flower market on the Cours Saleya[6], the distinctive Place Rossetti[7] with its yellow and red buildings and Cathédrale Sainte-Réparate[8], not to mention the unique shopping opportunities.

Ten Minutes walk towards the coast will bring you to the Promenade des Anglais[9] and its opulent beach restaurant scenes.

Cultural Nice and it’s picturesque surroundings

The Museums of Nice, cathedrals and historical attractions are spread around the City, but most within a 20 minute walk from the centre. The bus system, should you require it, is cheap, and €1 (usually paid upon entering the bus) will get you a ride to just about anywhere in the city, including any connections within 74 minutes of purchase. All routes lead back to the bus station, and from there €1.30 will get you out to Nice’s picturesque surrounding villages and towns, including Eze[10], Mont Born[11], Cap Ferrat[12], Grasse[13], and Saint Paul de Venice[14].
